The launch of the family business
The history of our company is the history of our family: a journey undertaken in the early 1900s with a project that guided each generation towards constant dedication to agriculture and a deep connection with the heart of the Marche.
Giovanni Fantone, originally from the Piedmont region, takes a courageous entrepreneurial leap by acquiring 30 hectares of arable land in Ancona with his first savings.
Later, in 1965 Alessandro Di Mattia, an illustrious lawyer and Giovanni's son-in-law, took over the management of the business which was at the time managed on a sharecropping basis.
The passing of the baton
When Laura Di Mattia inherited the estate, her husband, Antonio Roversi, a respected academic and businessman, ushered in a new era of corporate governance. Their collaboration laid the foundation for creating a new company, establishing high standards of excellence.
The expansion became a strategic imperative with the acquisition of another 30 neighboring hectares and the strengthening of agricultural capabilities, creating a large lake to ensure the property's self-sufficiency in terms of water resources. This marked a significant milestone in our journey towards prosperous and sustainable growth.
Our green gold
The winds of change lead Azienda Del Carmine to embark on a journey of transformation: our passion for the Marche region is demonstrated by focusing our energies on the cultivation of olive trees and the production of extra virgin olive oil.
With a consistent commitment to quality, we have invested in cutting-edge infrastructure, planting 11,000 olive cultivars and designing our own oil mill for the direct and immediate pressing of our olives.
The culinary adventure and energy production
Embracing sustainability, we installed our first photovoltaic system, harnessing the sun's energy to reduce our environmental impact (approximately 700 kW of installed power).
To add flavor to our offerings, we have opened La Tavola Del Carmine restaurant, inviting guests to savor the flavors of our region against the breathtaking backdrop of our estate.
This culinary feat is a testament to our commitment to providing unforgettable experiences for our guests. Today, thanks to the dedication of our chefs and restaurant staff, we are among the 5 best Gambero Rosso restaurants and are mentioned in many restaurant guides.
Our idea of hospitality
With our accommodation facility, we invite our guests to experience firsthand the tranquility and beauty of the estate by offering a 360° agritourism experience. A3Passi is the idea of hospitality that embodies our dedication to providing exceptional services in every aspect of our business.
We have added 7 luxurious rooms and a mini apartment to our accommodation offer. Here comfort and relaxation are found in a comfortable swimming pool dedicated to customers, embracing the splendor of the landscape surrounding our estate.
The best is yet to come
Looking to the future, we have expanded our agricultural footprint with the acquisition of a nearby 10-hectare estate. With a breathtaking view to the sea of Ancona, this new extension guarantees the continued growth and majesty of Azienda Del Carmine.
The renovation of a new rural farmhouse with sea view, has given rise to 4 new luxury suites with private SPA; a heated swimming pool reserved for guests with an appetizing Bistro service and exclusive gardens that connect to the rest of the property along a park of olive trees and a lush orchard.
